What would the 1920s in Korea looked like if there was no Japanese Occupation?

The Japanese occupation of Korea enforced new styles derived from Western influence. The colonial government pushed modernisation which led to loosing Korea's traditional style. The 'Hanbok', which is known now internationally as Korea's most traditional look was banned and prohibited. Therefore, this collection unfolds and analyses the question, what would 1920s Korean Hanbok look like if this history did not occur?

Our
Story

The Last Project

For my final graduate collection, I wanted to focus on my ethnicity and cultural background as a Korean British student. Hanbok was always something that I had a huge interest in, and the history of South Korea was a topic that I wanted the rest of the world to be aware of. This project therefore, was exceptionally personal to me, which allowed me to explore it with a considerable amount of enthusiasm.
